Theme camp

As a theme-based barcamp, the theme camp is an open and non-hierarchical form of event without a fixed agenda. In the theme camp, a thematic limitation to a topic area and related questions takes place in advance. At the beginning, individual topics and ideas for a session are presented in a short and non-binding round of presentations. All participants then decide on the ideas and topic proposals for the individual sessions on an equal basis. After the pitch, the organising team sorts the presented topics into this matrix. These will be discussed in parallel short discussion rounds at eye level with each other. Our sessions will each be 30 minutes long, so there will be room for a variety of topics.

After the pitch, the organising team sorts the presented topics into this matrix

Regardless of whether you would prefer to pitch your own ideas or be inspired by the topics presented by your fellow participants, at the Theme Camp everyone is actively brought into the fold and can equally take part in the sessions and offer input without needing much preparation content-wise.
Session presenters have complete freedom in designing their pitches: They can prepare their 5-minute oral presentation and promotion of their topic either as traditional PPT slides or as spontaneous, off-the-cuff presentations. Session presenters can also determine the intention and motivation behind their own sessions, inviting participants to open discussion rounds, initiating brainstorming sessions, or presenting and promoting ideas for concrete solutions. Consequently, the individual amount of preparation is up to each session presenter. Anything goes! What counts in the end is the enthusiasm for an idea!

If you have already chosen your topics, you can indicate these when registering as a session presenter for the Theme Camp. If you know for sure that you would like to pitch, but still want time to fine-tune your ideas, you can still register as a session presenter and leave the topic field blank.
You can also become a session presenter if you decide spontaneously to get involved. Even if you register as a participant, but find yourself inspired by the pitches of others, you can instantly switch to the role of session presenter!. The event format is open and inductive to allow for all sorts of spontaneous developments.
